Week of 2/6/12
Ok so these past few weeks have been going great. The "B" section in "Se tu m'ami, se tu sospiri" is going good. The weekend I really listened to the recording and before I was having problems with measures 35-46 now it is just 43-46. Also, I was thinking about changing where I breathe in this piece because breathing right between the phrase " sol per me, gentil pastor" just doesn't seem right. Anywho, Orpheus with his lute is going really well, you will definitely see a change when I come to my lesson on Thursday. I found a recording of the accompaniment online, it is a little fast but it is helping me with learning the words as well as the recording of Cecilla Bartoli with my italian piece. I am still unsure of when to practice and yesterday during chorale my voice got very fatigued. I was wondering how i can stop that from happening so quickly during the day because singing wise all I did yesterday was chorale and a 30 minute practice session.

Mary,
ReplyDeleteLet's talk more about voice fatigue. I will give you some good guidelines to follow when caring for your voice. As for now, keep up with the score study. This means listening to your piece with the score directly in front of you, following along with the musical nuances, the language, and the accompaniment. Take it easy on that voice, lady.
